Diego López faces the challenge that resists him

first_imgDiego López will live today his sixth duel against Barcelona with the blue and white shirt and in the previous five he has received 14 goals. The last in Cornellà-El Prat, last year, does not keep excessive good memories because Espanyol fell 0-4, Leo Messi scored two goals and is scored a goal in his own door. Diego López will try to leave history behind a Barcelona that is choking him today. In addition to having scored 38 goals, it is the second set against which he has won the most losses (11). Only Madrid has won more times (12). Diego López, who ends the contract at the end of this season and is now free to negotiate with any other team, is focused solely on helping Espanyol seal the salvation. And everything happens to show its best version. Leaving his goal to zero against Barcelona is something that would give him wings at the motivational level and, in addition, catapult his team. Of course, it is a subject that has pending before the Catalans. He has faced in Primera in 17 games and the balance is two wins (with Villarreal and Real Madrid), four draws and 11 losses. And in them he only left his goal zero once. It was with Villarreal, the 2011-12 season (0-0). With the yellow set he wore, but he also had to suffer the greatest culé punishment because that same course suffered a 5-0, on day 2, at Camp Nou. Diego López has a challenge today against Barcelona: leaving his goal to zero. The Espanyol goalkeeper suffers when he faces the Catalans, and that is the team that has scored the most goals in Primera (38). Diego wants to claim, dry Barça, and yesterday, through his Twitter account, he was in charge of putting the spotlight on today’s clash: “Maximum difficulty, total motivation. It’s time to be together. Come on, Espanyol“he said.last_img read more

TWITTER USERS TO TURN ERRIGAL GOLD FOR A DAY

first_imgLeonard, Eoin and John Watson pictured with Jason Black and Sean Feeney near the summit of Errigal during last year’s Errigal Tweet-Up climb.Awareness of childhood cancer will be taken to new heights next weekend when a group of Twitter users from Donegal – and some from further afield – join with any other eager climbers from the general public, to turn Errigal gold at the fourth annual Errigal Tweet-up on Sunday September 27.The charity tweet-up is also aiming to assist the Little Angels School by collecting old mobile phones for the school at their base camp on on the dayThe initial idea for a climb came from a chance comment a few years ago, but after a hugely successful first and second climb, the third was never really in doubt and this year the tradition will continue next weekend. “The climb has been called the ‘Tweet-Up’ because it initially came about through a group of twitter users, but everyone is welcome to come along and take part on the day. If climbing Errigal is something that you’ve always wanted to do, well this is the day to do it,” one of the local organisers, Liam Porter, said.In previous years the climb would have already been held at this stage, but for a variety of reasons it didn’t get to happen and the local twitter users were anxious not to leave it too late in the year. They also say that has allowed them now to tie in with the Childhood Cancer Foundation’s ‘Light it Up Gold’ campaign, albeit with a slightly different twist.“Last year we teamed up with the Autism Awareness campaign who were turning Donegal Blue so we thought that this year we would help raise awareness of childhood cancer by turning Errigal gold,” another one of the tweet-up coordinators, Clare McCahill, said. Liam Porter said the organisers of ‘Light it Up Gold’ were only too glad to have the Tweet-Up as part of their campaign.“The climb has always been tied in with charity so this was a perfect opportunity to tie in with a worth charity group who have their campaign running in September.”Many of Donegal’s notable landmark buildings have already been lit up gold as part of the campaign, so the tweet-up will bring some gold to the county’s most famous mountain.“We couldn’t exactly light up the mountain, but we could at least try bring some gold to it during September and we’d love climbers to wear gold colours or bring gold flags etc on the day if they can.”“We will, as we have in previous years, also be collecting old phones for the Little Angels school in Letterkenny, said Clare, who added that they’d ideally love climbers to make their donations directly to the Childhood Cancer Foundation through the charity’s website – HYPERLINK “http://childhoodcancer.ie/donate-to-the-foundation/” http://childhoodcancer.ie/donate-to-the-foundation/ Climbers are asked to meet at the carpark at the foot of Errigal at 10am on Sunday morning September 27.You can follow the climb on Twitter @errigaltweetup and with the hashtag #errigaltweetup and you can also find out more about the climb by joining the Errigal Tweet-up open group on Facebook or by using the e.mail address HYPERLINK “mailto:lporter@eircom.net” lporter@eircom.net to contact Liam.Photo CaptionLeonard, Eoin and John Watson pictured with Jason Black and Sean Feeney near the summit of Errigal during last year’s Errigal Tweet-Up climb.
