Google Google’s yearly I/O developer conference is next week, but the company announced an update to its smartwatch software ahead of the big show. The feature may seem familiar if you’ve ever used a Samsung Galaxy Watch.Wear OS, Google’s five-year-old smartwatch software platform, got its last big update in the fall. That update added swipable access to new fitness features and notifications, but Tiles looks to extend the swipe-over features further, adding widget-like mini-apps for info on the fly. In the wait for the official launch of EcoSport SUV in India, latest reports suggest that authorised dealers of Ford have begun accepting bookings for the vehicle.According to a report published by the CarTrade.com, sources confirmed that Ford dealers in India have started taking pre-orders for EcoSport with advance payment of ₹50,000.”The authorised dealers of the company have now started accepting the bookings for the model as the interested individuals have to just pay a sum of ₹50000,” reported CarTrade.Ford India which is still mum on the official launch date of EcoSport recently revealed that it will start accepting bookings from June. However, the company did not specify the date. A recent report revealed that Ford will roll out EcoSport on 11 June.EcoSport which received soft launch in 12 cities as part of its EcoSport Urban Discoveries campaign roadshow is expected to come in four trims – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional trims. The top-end variants which are powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine will come with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the Ambiente and Trend will have the 5-speed manual transmission (MT).The base model of the EcoSport Ambient will lack safety features like ABS and airbags, but will have manual air conditioning, manual rear windows and Bluetooth audio system.The EcoSport Trend variant will come with ABS and EBD, but will leave out the airbags. The other features of this variant include steering mounted audio controls, height adjustable drive seat and front and rear power windows. The Titanium EcoSport will have power windows, steering mounted controls, automatic air conditioning system, Microsoft SYNC, 16″ alloys, dual airbags, Reverse parking sensors and chrome exteriors. The top variant, Ford EcoSport Titanium Optional, along with the features offered by the Trend will feature leather seats, push button start, Keyless Vehicle System and side and curtain airbags.Although the company is yet to reveal the price tag of the car for India, the vehcile is likely to be priced between ₹5.9 and ₹6 lakh and the high-end variants to cost ₹9 lakh. Two workers were killed as a tractor overturned and fell into a ditch while climbing up a hill in Lakkhichhara upazila Khagrachhari on Sunday, reports UNB.The deceased were Meracha Marma, 35, son of Maolang Marma of Tuntunglapara area and Provat Chakma, 30, son of Samro Chakma of Bandarkata area in the same upazila.Sub-inspector Md Khorshed of Lakkhichhara police station said the tractor carrying four people fell into a ditch after its driver lost his control around 2:30pm while climbing up a hill, leaving the duo dead on the spot.Two others also sustained injuries, he added.The bodies were handed over to the victims’ families, the SI added.

She laid the foundation stones of nine projects to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 31 crore and 61 lakh. The Chief Minister also inaugurated 16 projects to be completed at a cumulative cost of Rs 108 crore 41 lakh. Benefits worth Rs 7 crore 35 lakh were handed over to 73,591 beneficiaries under the Kanyashree scheme. Around 4,114 beneficiaries received Rs 25,000 each under the Rupashree scheme. About 41,006 students received cycles under the Sabuj Sathi scheme at a cost of Rs 13 crore 12 lakh. “The Union government hardly spends any money under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme. 70 percent of the allocation is spent on advertisements. They just believe in making noise. Here in Bengal, girls are not dependent on anyone anymore. There are ample government schemes for them,” stated the Chief Minister. She also added that while there was Kanyashree project for the girl child, there was the Sikshashree project for tribal students. “Soft loans of Rs 10 lakh are given to tribal students for higher studies. Tribal students are also entitled to Rs 20 lakh of soft loans if they want to study abroad,” stated Banerjee. She further maintained that there are 1 crore 70 lakh students from the minority community in Bengal out of which 30 lakh students have been awarded scholarships and Rs 6000 crore has already been spent for different scholarships and educational schemes. “Cooch Behar district has been the best performer for the 100-day job guarantee scheme. We have declared Cooch Behar a heritage town. It has been also declared the Nirmal district with 4 lakh 30 thousand toilets constructed,” she stated. Banerjee added that a new bridge is coming up on Raidhak river. “The Madanmohan temple and surroundings have been renovated. We are coming up with accommodation facilities for tourists near the temple,” stated the Chief Minister. From Cooch Behar, Banerjee departed for Tilabari Tourist Complex near Batabari in Jalpaiguri district by helicopter. She will attend an administrative meeting and a government programme at Tiyabon near Chalsa on Wednesday. On arriving at Tilabari, she walked 7 km to offer prayers at the famous Mahakal shrine.read more
