WEATHER WARNING: BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES AS 120KM/HR STORM WINDS ON THE WAY

first_imgMET Eireann has issued an ORANGE weather warning from midnight tonight until noon tomorrow.Gales bringing wind gusts of up to 120km/hr will hit Donegal in the early hours of the morning.The winds have the potential to bring down power lines and trees. A Met Eireann spokesman: “This category of ORANGE level weather warnings is for weather conditions which have the capacity to impact significantly on people in the affected areas.“The issue of an Orange level weather warning implies that all recipients in the affected areas should prepare themselves in an appropriate way for the anticipated conditions.”The storm will bring high winds, driving rain and snow at higher levels.It is expected to subside late on Thursday with a return to calmer conditions on Friday afternoon.
