IPL 2017 Live streaming, KKR vs KXIP: When and where to to watch

first_imgTwo-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders would be wary of a transformed and formidable Kings XI Punjab in their Indian Premier League face-off at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. The Purple Brigade, champions in 2012 and 2014, may boast of a 13-6 win-loss record against the perennial bridesmaid but the scenario looks different, especially in the context of an injured Chris Lynn, the leading run-getter of the season. The Aussie had become IPL’s latest batting sensation after his 41-ball 93 not out in a record 184-run opening stand with Gautam Gambhir (76 from 48) handed Gujarat Lions a 10- wicket rout in the opening match. But Lynn aggravated an old injury in his left shoulder against Mumbai Indians where KKR suffered a four-wicket loss.Lynn had undergone surgery on the same shoulder in 2014 and the injury returned to haunt him, throwing his IPL campaign in disarray even as an official word was still awaited. While Lynn looks doubtful starter against KXIP, KKR, however, will be boasted by the return of star India pacer Umesh Yadav who has joined the team on Wednesday. The pacer had complained of right hip and lower back soreness to miss the first two KKR matches after a gruelling home season where he played 12 of the 13 Tests and was instrumental in India’s 2-1 win over Australia.Yadav is likely to replace Ankit Rajpoot, who gave away 19 runs in the penultimate over against Mumbai, who chased down KKR’s challenging 178 with a ball to spare.Where to watch online? The match will be streamed online on Hotstar.advertisementWhich channel has the TV rights in India? The match will be broadcast live on TV by Sony Pictures Network (Sony Max, Sony Six, Sony Six HD, Sony ESPN, Sony ESPN HD.Where to follow match updates online? For best and timely updates follow http://indiatoday.intoday.in/ipl2017.The match coverage begins at 18.30 IST.ALSO WATCH:last_img read more

Claudio Ranieri desperate for points

first_imgFulham manager Claudio Ranieri says his immediate priority at the club is to win points as they battle to stay in the Premier League after an abysmal start to the season.Fulham are stuck to the bottom of the Premier League table, despite spending over £100m on players last summer. The Cottagers have amassed just 10 points from 18 matches and have conceded the most goals so far this season.Their poor start to the season led to the sacking of former manager Slaviša Jokanović and Claudio Ranieri was handed the reins to help the club survive. After picking up just four points from his three home games in charge, Ranieri wants to make Craven Cottage a fortress for the club as they prepare to host Wolves on Boxing Day.Official: Tottenham sign Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon Andrew Smyth – August 8, 2019 Tottenham have sealed another transfer deadline day deal to sign the highly-rated Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.“I would like to get more points at home because in front of our fans they deserve it,” Ranieri told Sky Sports.“But in this moment wherever I can get points is not important. Getting points is more important than where.“Our fans are very close to us and they believe.“If I believe, they believe. If they believe they strengthen everything. We try to transmit to them our strength.“We feel our fans are behind us. It is important. They fight a lot to get back into the Premier League. That is important for us, for them, for everybody.”last_img read more

Jones Spurs will be a good test for rejuvenated Man United

first_imgManchester United defender Phil Jones believes their clash with Tottenham will give them an indication of their current strength under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar SolskjaerThe Red Devils have won all five of their games since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho last month at Old Trafford. But Jones, who has started four times under the Norwegian, warns that Spurs will likely give them their toughest challenge yet on Sunday.“Spurs is a good test,” Jones told the club website.“We are in good form and have some momentum going. We have steadied the ship a bit.“We have not done anything yet, we have not achieved anything, but we need to keep it going. Possibly Spurs will be an indicator for us and how far we can go but it is a game we need to win.Jose Mourinho is sold on Lampard succeeding at Chelsea Tomás Pavel Ibarra Meda – September 14, 2019 Jose Mourinho wanted to give his two cents on Frank Lampard’s odds as the new Chelsea FC manager, he thinks he will succeed. There really…“They are in good form and doing well and we need to have a good week, train well and prepare for a tough game. Hopefully, the momentum can carry us on to win that match.”The 26-year-old insists Champions League football remains the target with United now just six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea after four successive wins.“Of course we should be in the Champions League next season and that is the aim but we have done nothing yet. I know it is a cliche but it has to be game by game,” said Jones.“I don’t really want to think about the top four, or the Champions League or the FA Cup.“It has to be game by game. Tottenham is tough and we aim to see where we are after that.”Jones has made seven league appearances for United this season.last_img read more

COPY LINKAD Loading … TwitterThe Summer Solstice, also known as midsummer, will take place on June 21, Friday this year. The summer solstice occurs when the Earth’s poles reach the maximum tilt towards the sun. This happens twice a year and during the Summer Solstice, the North Pole is tilted towards the Sun.Summer Solstice is the beginning of the summer season and is said to be the longest day of the year. The day will receive the maximum hours of sunlight with the Sun rising early and setting late. This is because the Sun shines directly above the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere. The Earth’s axis is said to tilt 23.4 degrees towards the Sun relative to the plane of its orbit. How do Indians celebrate Summer Solstice? In India, many people celebrate the longest day of the year by doing yoga. Incidentally, June 21 is also observed as International Yoga Day. People get together and celebrate the day by having mass yoga sessions across the country. They also pray to the Sun for happiness, love and forgiveness. The Sunrise will take place at 5:23:40 am and will set at 19:21:57 pm. Length of the day will be 13 hours 58 minutes and 16 seconds. The days keep getting longer It is a known fact that with the commencement of the year, the days keep getting longer till 20, 21 and 22 of June and they begin becoming shorter. However, scientists have discovered that over time, i.e. years, the Earth’s rotation has been getting steadily longer due to tidal friction. Scientists believe that the Earth finished a rotation in six hours now, it takes 24 hours to finish the rotation. Closecenter_img What is the Summer Solstice?last_img read more

Borexino experiment detects geoneutrinos

first_img Explore further Citation: Borexino experiment detects geo-neutrinos (2010, March 16) retrieved 18 August 2019 from https://phys.org/news/2010-03-borexino-geo-neutrinos.html © 2010 PhysOrg.com In the current two-year study, named the Borexino experiment, there were no strong background signals because the nearest nuclear reactor is hundreds of kilometers away. The detector, photomultiplier tubes and liquids used were also specifically chosen because of their low levels of intrinsic radioactivity. The aim of the Borexino experiment was to detect low-energy solar neutrinos in a detector comprising 300 tonnes of pseudocumene, a doped hydrocarbon fluid, encased inside a nylon sphere. The sphere was encased inside a stainless steel sphere containing 1,000 tonnes of pseudocumene and lined with 2,200 photo-sensors capable of detecting single photons of light. The steel sphere was suspended in an 18 meter diameter steel tank containing 2,400 tonnes of highly purified water. During the experiment, 9.9 geo-neutrino events were detected, with uncertainties of +4.1 and -3.4. One of the researchers, Professor Gianpaolo Bellini from the University of Milan, said the results rule out the hypothesis that most of the planet’s internal heat is generated by a uranium-fuelled nuclear geo-reactor in the Earth’s core.Several larger experiments are being planned, including one in which a 10,000 tonne detector would be built on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, where the Earth’s crust is very thin. Professor Bellini said the experiment marks the start of a new era in the study of Earth’s interior. New results confirm standard neutrino theory Neutrinos are extremely inert, chargeless, fundamental particles of almost zero mass that are emitted by the Sun and created by cosmic rays arriving on Earth. They have been the subject of research for many years, and studies of them have increased our knowledge of the physics of the Sun.Geo-neutrinos are electron antineutrinos that are created inside the Earth when radioactive nuclei of elements such as thorium and uranium decay. Measurements of the flux of geo-neutrinos may help scientists understand how much of the Earth’s internal heat is caused by radioactive decays, and this could increase our understanding of processes arising from convection currents within the mantle that affect movements of the tectonic plates and volcanic activity.Detecting any kind of neutrino is difficult since huge volumes of detector material must be used, and the detector must be deep underground to avoid interference from cosmic rays. Solar and atmospheric neutrinos can be studied by their interactions with heavy water nuclei, but signals from geo-neutrinos would be swamped by the radioactivity in the heavy water, and so the researchers used hydrocarbon materials instead. A geo-neutrino passing through the hydrocarbon can collide with a proton to create a neutron and positron, and this collision generates a dual gamma-ray emission and small burst of detectable light.Geo-neutrinos were first detected by Japanese researchers in 2005 during a project known as the KamLAND experiment. Their detector was in a mine one kilometer underground, and was located close to several nuclear reactors, since the team was studying reactor antineutrinos. They had to separate the geo-neutrino signals from the stronger antineutrino emissions from the reactors. — The group’s paper will be published in the Europhysics Letters B and is available on Arxiv website.– Borexino Experiment: borex.lngs.infn.it/ (PhysOrg.com) — The Borexino collaboration of about 80 scientists from six countries, who have been working with a detector buried 1.5 km beneath the Gran Sasso mountain near l’Aquila in Italy have detected geo-neutrinos, which are electron antineutrinos created by radioactive decays inside the Earth’s mantle and crust. BlackBerry CEO Dont Be Tempted By Trendy Popular Phones Buy Ours Instead

first_imgOctober 29, 2014 Kim Kardashian, this one’s for you.BlackBerry executive chair and CEO John Chen has written an open letter to loyal BlackBerry users (current and former), basically pleading with them to forget those shiny iPhones and buy a freakin’ BlackBerry phone already. OK, that might be an exaggeration. But not by much.”It’s tempting in a rapidly changing, rapidly growing mobile market to change for the sake of change – to mimic what’s trendy and match the industry-standard, kitchen-sink approach of trying to be all things to all people,” Chen wrote in the letter published today on BlackBerry’s blog. “But there’s also something to be said for the classic adage, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”In other words, please don’t buy an iPhone 6 or the latest Android phone. Instead, try the forthcoming BlackBerry Classic. By “classic,” BlackBerry apparently means throwback. Specific details about the phone aren’t clear yet, though Chen says it will come with a top row of navigation keys and a trackpad, a larger and sharper screen, a “growing” app catalogue, and it will run on the BlackBerry 10 operating system.BlackBerry, of course, was a smartphone pioneer, but saw it’s market share eaten by Apple and Google. Not too long ago, BlackBerry released the awkwardly shaped BlackBerry Passport phone.Related: The Passport Is Not the BlackBerry You’re Looking For”We also recognize that a lot of you continue to hang on to your Bold devices because they get the job done, day in and day out – just like you,” Chen wrote. Overexposed reality star Kim Kardashian recently said at a tech conference that she is still in love with her discontinued BlackBerry Bold, adding that it is her “heart and soul.” Kardashian apparently keeps three in her room at all times and if one breaks she immediately searches eBay for a replacement.Perhaps that was a coincidental plug for BlackBerry and nothing more …Related: Kim Kardashian Apparently Wants to Buy BlackBerry, and Thinks Twitter Is the New GoogleIn his letter, Chen continued to blast the competition while trumpeting the BlackBerrys of yore. “Innovation is a word that gets used too often and carelessly. Innovation is not about blowing up what works to make something new – it’s about taking what works and making it better. … You don’t reinvent yourself every day; you take what you learned yesterday and sharpen it today. You drive change – often on your terms, but sometimes not. That you keep going regardless is what distinguishes you as a grown-up. You’re in it for the long haul. So is BlackBerry.”So, if Classic BlackBerry is your thing, you can sign up for more details once it becomes available.  3 min read Free Workshop | August 28: Get Better Engagement and Build Trust With Customers Nowcenter_img This hands-on workshop will give you the tools to authentically connect with an increasingly skeptical online audience. WannaCry hero Marcus Hutchins pleads guilty to malware charges may face upto

first_imgMarcus Hutchins, who authors the popular blog MalwareTech, and a British security researcher has pleaded guilty today to writing malware in the years prior to his prodigious career as a malware researcher. Marcus posted a statement on his website and on his Twitter feed too, “I regret these actions and accept full responsibility for my mistakes. Having grown up, I’ve since been using the same skills that I misused several years ago for constructive purposes. I will continue to devote my time to keeping people safe from malware attacks.” Marcus was virtually unknown to most in the security community until May 2017 when the UK media revealed him as the “accidental hero” who inadvertently halted the global spread of WannaCry, a ransomware contagion that had taken the world by storm just days before. In August 2017, Hutchins was arrested by FBI agents in Las Vegas on suspicion of authoring and/or selling “Kronos,” a strain of malware designed to steal online banking credentials. Hutchins has been barred from leaving the United States since he was arrested. The plea agreement of Marcus is here. “Attachment A” on page 15 outlines the case against Hutchins and an alleged co-conspirator. It further reads that in between July 2012 and Sept. 2015, Hutchins helped create and sell Kronos and a related piece of malware called UPAS Kit. Many of Hutchins’ supporters and readers had trouble believing the charges against him, and in response KrebsOnSecurity published a detailed investigation into activities tied to his various online personas over the years. As per the report, the clues suggested Hutchins began developing and selling malware in his mid-teens — only to later develop a change of heart and earnestly endeavor to leave that part of his life squarely in the rearview mirror. Nevertheless, there were a number of indications that Hutchins’ alleged malware activity continued into his adulthood. Upto 10 years in prison According to court documents obtained by ZDNet, Hutchins pleaded guilty to two counts, and the government agreed to drop the other eight. He pleaded guilty to entering a conspiracy to create and distribute malware, and in aiding and abetting its distribution. For each count, Hutchins will face up to five years in prison, $250,000 in fines, and one year of supervised release. According to ZDNet, Marcus was charged for working with a co-conspirator identified as “Vinny,” “VinnyK,” and “Aurora123”– to advertise and sell the two malware strains online. This started somewhere in between July 2012 and September 2015, even before Hutchins was recognized as a talented security researcher. Further ZDNet explains that creating malware is a form of protected speech in the United States, but selling and disseminating is another matter. Orin Kerr, the law professor of University of Southern California gives a detailed explanation in the 2017 dissection of the government’s charges on the Washington Post website. The charges on Marcus are likely to be tempered by federal sentencing guidelines, and may take into account the already served detention time. It still remains unclear when he will be sentenced. After the arrest, Hutchins was released on bail and has been living in Los Angeles awaiting trial. He started sharing his malware analysis skills with the information security (infosec) community when he was prohibited from working for his employer. Hutchins is considered as one of the most talented security researchers and this news comes a huge loss for the infosec community. Update on 26th July from ZDNet ZDNet on Friday reported that the US legal case against Marcus Hutchins who helped stop WannaCry ransomware outbreak comes to an end. He is sentenced in the US to time served and one year of supervised release. The UK-born malware analyst avoids prison time in a case that the judge described as having “too many positives on other side of ledger” — referring to Hutchins’ role in the WannaCry ransomware outbreak and his work as a malware analyst.
